The next morning we woke up 10am Melbourne time which was unfortunately only 6am Bangkok time. What can you do, other than enjoy the buffet brekkie (skipped the spaghetti marinara and pumpkin soup though, and stuck to the tropical fruits and croissants) and then went out to explore the surroundings. Walked towards Khao San rd, but took a wrong turn and ended up in a tiny alley where the Muay Thai morning trainig session was already going. Was thinking of joining in but wasn't sure the travel insurance would cover it.
Khao San rd was very quiet at this time, which we now realise is quite rare. On our way back to the hotel we walked through a temple area which was so peaceful in the middle of the chaos.
After a well needed nap, we went out for lunch and then lazed around the rooftop pool for a while, which had some pretty cool views.
As should be done when in Bangkok we finished off the day with a foot massage. Ahh... bliss!
Ahh. A typically lovely Bangkok day.
ReplyDeleteYou should see Khao San rd on Halloween completely nuts!!!! We stayed just off Khao San rd when we were there!
